Privacy Policy

Wellridge Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") hereby establishes the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") regarding the handling of users' personal information in connection with the services provided on this website (hereinafter referred to as "the Service").

Article 1 — Personal Information

"Personal information" refers to "personal information" as defined by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, meaning information relating to a living individual that can identify a specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact details, or other descriptions contained therein, as well as data relating to appearance, fingerprints, and voiceprints, and information that can identify a specific individual from that information alone, such as health insurance card insurer numbers (personally identifiable information).

Article 2 — Methods of Collecting Personal Information

The Company may request personal information such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, email address, bank account number, credit card number, and driver's license number when a user registers for our services. The Company may also collect transaction records and payment-related information containing the user's personal information from our partners (including information providers, advertisers, ad distributors, etc.; hereinafter referred to as "Partners") in connection with transactions made between the user and such Partners.

Article 3 — Purposes of Collecting and Using Personal Information

The purposes for which the Company collects and uses personal information are as follows:

  2. To respond to inquiries from users (including identity verification)
  3. To send emails regarding new features, updates, campaigns, and other services offered by the Company in connection with the services currently being used by the user
  4. To contact users as necessary for maintenance, important notices, and other communications
  5. To identify users who violate the Terms of Service or who attempt to use the services for fraudulent or improper purposes, and to refuse their use
  6. To allow users to view, modify, or delete their own registration information and to view their usage status
  7. To charge users for paid services

Article 4 — Changes to Purposes of Use

The Company shall change the purposes of use of personal information only to the extent that such changes are reasonably recognized as being related to the purposes prior to the change.

If the purposes of use are changed, the Company shall notify users of the changed purposes or announce them on this website by the method prescribed by the Company.

Article 5 — Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

The Company shall not provide personal information to third parties without obtaining the prior consent of the user, except in the following cases. However, this excludes cases permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other laws and regulations.

  1. When it is necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
  2. When it is particularly necessary for the improvement of public health or the promotion of the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
  3. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national government body, a local government body, or a person entrusted by either in performing duties prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the consent of the individual may impede the performance of such duties
  4. When the following matters have been announced or publicly disclosed in advance, and the Company has filed a notification with the Personal Information Protection Commission:

    • That the provision of personal information to third parties will be suspended upon the request of the individual
    • The method for accepting such requests from the individual

Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the recipients of information in the following cases shall not be considered third parties:

  1. When the Company outsources all or part of the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use
  2. When personal information is provided as a result of a business succession due to a merger or other reason
  3. When personal information is to be jointly used with a specific party, and the individual has been notified in advance or has been placed in a position to easily know the fact thereof, the items of personal information to be jointly used, the scope of the joint users, the purposes of use by those users, and the name or title of the person responsible for managing such personal information

Article 6 — Disclosure of Personal Information

When requested by an individual to disclose their personal information, the Company shall disclose such information to the individual without delay. However, if disclosure would fall under any of the following cases, the Company may decide not to disclose all or part of the information, and if such a decision is made, the individual shall be notified without delay. A fee of 1,000 yen per request shall be charged for the disclosure of personal information.

  1. When there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the individual or a third party
  2. When there is a risk of significant impediment to the proper conduct of the Company's business
  3. When it would violate other laws and regulations

Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, information other than personal information, such as browsing history and characteristic information, shall in principle not be disclosed.

Article 7 — Correction and Deletion of Personal Information

Users may request the Company to correct, add to, or delete (hereinafter referred to as "Correction, etc.") their personal information held by the Company through the procedures established by the Company, if such information is incorrect.

If the Company receives a request from a user as described in the preceding paragraph and determines that it is necessary to comply with the request, the Company shall make the Correction, etc. of the relevant personal information without delay.

The Company shall notify the user without delay when it has made a Correction, etc. pursuant to the preceding paragraph, or when it has decided not to make a Correction, etc.

Article 8 — Suspension of Use of Personal Information

If an individual requests that the use of their personal information be suspended or erased (hereinafter referred to as "Suspension of Use, etc.") on the grounds that the information is being handled beyond the scope of the purposes of use, or that it was obtained through wrongful means, the Company shall promptly conduct the necessary investigation.

Based on the results of the investigation described in the preceding paragraph, if the Company determines that it is necessary to comply with the request, the Company shall suspend use, etc. of the relevant personal information without delay.

The Company shall notify the user without delay when it has suspended use, etc. pursuant to the preceding paragraph, or when it has decided not to suspend use, etc.

Notwithstanding the preceding two paragraphs, if suspension of use, etc. involves significant cost or is otherwise difficult to carry out, and alternative measures can be taken to protect the rights and interests of the user, such alternative measures shall be adopted.

Article 9 — Changes to the Privacy Policy

The contents of this Policy may be changed without notifying users, except for matters otherwise provided by laws and regulations or separately stipulated in this Policy.

Unless otherwise determined by the Company, the revised Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time it is published on this website.
